Some people may have caught a whisper of US mock information attack hosted against themselves to test the country’s preparedness using a panel of former government officials reacting to the attack as the US governing body. It was about two weeks ago now, but not that many people know why it was held. The link here will take you to a 60 Minutes media brief about what a former State Department official called an “Electronic Pearl Harbor.” During which a still unknown foreign power entered into the United States most secure systems via the internet and downloaded terabytes of information. These systems included: the Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Commerce, Department of Energy (including the nation’s power grids), possibly NASA, and all of the military agencies.
